It Takes a Village

KinEco didn't get here alone. This is the space to celebrate the local businesses, tradespeople, and neighbors who make this community great — and a place for all of us to do the same for each other.

I want to kick off this community board with the story that inspired the whole thing.

When it came time to get decals on our truck and units, I could have gone with a big Midwest outfit that does mass production. Instead, I met someone at a Northern Lancaster Chamber of Commerce event who ran a small local print shop right here in Berks County. The next day, he came out to our lot, walked around the truck, felt the surface, and talked UV protection and adhesive types with me for an hour.

That never happens with a national chain. Reading Print Co. did right by us, and we'll be loyal customers for life. That's what this board is about — finding those people, lifting them up, and keeping the dollars local.

If you know a business or person who showed up for you, post it here. Let's build something together.

This is exactly what our region needs. Too many contractors default to nationals out of habit. Dan, glad you're putting a flag in the ground on this.

Can confirm — Reading Print Co. is the real deal. Used them for our shop signage and they bent over backwards to get it right. Great recommendation Dan!

Love this idea. Chamber events have connected me to some of my best vendors over the years. Keep these posts coming!

If you're a contractor in Berks or Lancaster County and you're still renting porta-potties from the national chains, do yourself a favor and call KinEco.

I've used Dan's units on our last three builds. On time every delivery, serviced every week without me having to chase anyone down. And the units are noticeably bigger than what we used to get — my crew actually comments on it. Dan is the kind of owner who answers the phone himself and knows your job site by name.

10/10. Local, reliable, good people.

Mike — this means the world. You were one of our very first repeat customers and we don't take that lightly. Thank YOU for giving a new local business a shot.

Seconded. Just called Dan after seeing this — super easy to deal with and pricing was more than fair for what you get.

Before KinEco had a single unit on the road, the Northern Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance were already opening doors for us.

These organizations are the reason small businesses can punch above their weight. The networking events, the introductions, the credibility that comes from being a member — it's real value. I've made connections at Chamber events that turned into vendor relationships, referrals, and friendships that I expect to last decades.

If you're a small business owner in this region and you're not plugged into your local Chamber, that's where I'd start. Don't go it alone when there's a whole village waiting to help.

The Chamber intro events are underrated. I met my two best suppliers at a GRCA breakfast. Great call-out Dan.

Just joined the Northern Lancaster Chamber last month partly inspired by seeing what it's done for KinEco. Already worth it.

Big shoutout to Dan and the whole KinEco crew for making our Spring Cleanup Block Party a success!

I was nervous about the sanitation logistics for an outdoor event with 200+ people. Dan walked me through the whole thing on the first phone call, recommended the right number of units, showed up an hour early to make sure placement was right, and checked in during the event. I didn't have to think about it once.

If you're planning any kind of outdoor community event in Berks County — this is your call to make first.

Sarah — what a pleasure it was! Community events like yours are exactly why we got into this. Thank you for trusting us.

Was at that block party — everything ran smoothly. Didn't even notice the logistics which is the best compliment!

People ask me why I started KinEco after 30+ years in project management. Here's the honest answer.

For decades I was on job sites watching contractors struggle to find reliable, local vendors. They wanted to support local — they knew those dollars stayed in the community — but they needed someone who could actually deliver consistently. The national chains won on convenience, not quality.

I started KinEco to be that local option that doesn't make you choose. And along the way I've been humbled by how many people in this region showed up for us: chamber members who made introductions, neighbors who spread the word, local suppliers who gave a new business a chance.

This community board is my thank you. It's also my commitment — we will always be here to lift up the businesses and people who make this region what it is.

This hit close to home. As a small business owner I felt this. The village thing is real — glad someone's building a space for it.

Shared this with our whole Chamber group. This is the kind of leadership we need more of. Thank you Dan.
